sb2 wins a NY fair hearing
A New York facility contacted sb2 after a resident's application was denied and the subsequent reconsideration was not approved. sb2 intervened, and at the fairing hearing the judge reversed the agency's December 2011 denial. The judge ordered the agency to re-open the 2011 application and permit the applicant ample time to submit any missing verifications. Upon re-opening the case, it was found that all verifications had been submitted and the agency issued an eligibility notice that provided for benefits for the entire period requested. The facility received a full recovery of $55k in benefits.
